The Miracle of Frankincense

FRANKINCENSE

To those of us who have read the Bible, the story of the Magi and their gifts to the infant Jesus of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh is a familiar one. Am I the only one who throughout the years has wondered about the significance of those gifts? Matthew's account explains how these 3 wisemen traveled from the East to worship Christ, born King of the Jews bearing these gifts. The value of gold as a gift fit for a King has always been obvious to me, but frankincense and myrrh? Since childhood I felt these 2 were just as much a letdown as when a child gets socks instead of a shiny red bike for Christmas. It is only recently that, through my studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine and my research of other alternative methods of healing, I have discovered how wise these wisemen were, and how valuable, indeed, their gifts to the Christ were. I will refer to frankincense only for now. A resinous tree from the Burseraceae botanical family, it was considered a holy oil in the Middle East and used for sacrificial ceremonies. Modern research has discovered that its chemical formula made out of Monoterpenes and Sesquiterpenes make it a healing POWERHOUSE. It is anti-cancer as it produces apoptosis or programed cell death in human leukemia cells, as well as prostate, colon, and liver cancer cells. It also inhibits the invasion and metastasis of Melanoma and Fibrosarcoma. It is a cell regenerator, therefore, it acts as an anti-catarrhal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and immune stimulant. It is used for Liver Cirrhosis, Lou Gehrig's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Brain injury and even Alzheimer's Disease. The Boswellic acid in Frankincense prevents the expression and activity of many of the proteins involved in the inflammatory response of the body, helping relieve the pain of Arthritis sufferers. I had a chance of testing this property for myself just a few days ago. A nagging neck pain radiating down my right shoulder all the way down to my wrist, had plagued me for weeks. It had resisted my many attempts to get rid of it. Acupuncture would alleviate it for a few days but it would come back as fierce as before later. Vicodin only numbed it for few hours and left me feeling groggy and depressed. Biomagnetism was more beneficial but it is difficult to scan yourself with the magnets, and I was not getting to the root of the problem. Then, I remembered the little bottle of Frankincense oil I have in my medicine cabinet. 1 little drop under my tongue put me back in circulation in less than 2 hours. The pain was gone, and it hasn't come back! Hats off to the Magi! And my apologies for doubting your wisdom! Jun. 22, 2013
