Promises To Keep...

Recently, I was reminded of the importance of keeping a journal. Journaling, makes it easier for us to remember. We remember the wonderful experiences life has already granted us. We remember the challenges which when faced correctly, polish us, refine us, teach us, and make us into a stronger, and hopefully a better version of one's self. Keeping a written record also makes it easier to remember that miracles do indeed happen, that prayers do indeed are heard and in many instances are answered and always for our benefit and ultimate happiness.

I must admit I had forgotten this. Busy as I have been, with writing books, recording podcasts for the community, devoting time and effort in taking care of my ever increasing patient load, and serving those around me at home, church, work and community, I had found it hard to sit down and write even on this page, let alone in my journal.

But, good advice is always worth following, so I have again started where I left off. Since then, I have been utterly surprised at how Heaven is indeed mindful of all of us. Less than two months ago, I was asked to offer the closing prayer after a meeting in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In my prayer, I asked for those who would visit the Temple that day to receive the inspiration they needed.

Surprisingly, it was I who received revelation from Heaven that day in the form of remembrance. I remembered a promise God had made at me several years ago, which is yet to be fulfilled. I had forgotten it because my life has taken me onto a different path just as wonderful, and very soul fulfilling. I am happy, I am content, I am satisfied. I thought I had been blessed even though the promise had not been fulfilled in the way I had thought it would when that promise was given.

I was not praying for my own inspiration. I was not seeking revelation. I had even forgotten that promise because I thought it had been fulfilled in an alternative manner.

Still, that day, I remembered.

I had forgotten, but God has not. He reminded me that in as much as I do strive to be obedient and do my part, doors will be opened, blessings will pour down, that the promises made to us are written in Heaven, and they will always be fulfilled.

Since then, I have been working hard to do my part, seeking the needed information, writing letters of intent, preparing myself physically, emotionally and spiritually for the day that blessing becomes a reality.

Peter Drucker once said " Unless, commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes...but no plans." Well, I have a plan, Heaven is committed to my final success, and therefore I hope for the day that promise is mine.

This is just my opinion...
