Reaching Goals

Elder David A. Bednar once said " Sometimes we may ask God for success and He gives us physical and mental stamina. We might plead for prosperity, and we receive enlarged perspective and increased patience, or we petition for growth and are blessed with the gift of grace. He may bestow upon us conviction and confidence as we strive to achieve worthy goals."

This has proven to be true for me in many occasions. Recently, I have been facing some challenges, physical, emotional, spiritual, which have forced me to stop and assess what I am up

against and plan a strategy.

I have learned in my long life the importance of choosing, and choosing wisely. It is our divine right

to choose how to behave, how to live, what to do or even not do, for even when not choosing we are actually making a choice, and choices have consequences. Therefore, I take time to think about my choices and plan my steps.

This has made it easier for me to live with the consequences of my choices. Focusing not on what I am up against, but on what roads lay ahead to take me where I want to go, to the fulfillment of my goals, or the accomplishment of worthy desires, while staying true to myself always has made my

journey easier.

Winning only comes when we recognize who we are, what skills we have, how to work hard at developing them, and use them for worthy causes. As we do so, and only then, we receive the physical and mental stamina, the enlarged and increased patience, the gift of grace and the conviction and confidence we need to reach the top. Here is to winning!

This is just my opinion...
