It Is Good For Us!

GOU QI ZI. The Berry That Clears Your Vision...And Much More.
“I can’t drive at night anymore, doc, “ he complained. “and I have a kid going to college soon. I need to keep on working. Can you help me?”
Poor vision for anyone is a problem, but for a driver is also a liability.
After several questions and a thorough examination, I concluded that his problem was related to a liver disorder and natural aging. Although, still relatively young at 52, the body had began to undergo changes that were being manifested mainly in his eyesight,
although several other symptoms from other organs were complicating the clinical picture.
Luckily, the earth produces many wonderful products which have awesome effects on our bodies if we know when and how to use them. In this case, I only had to direct my patient where to find them and how to take them. In three months, his eyesight, energy, and even joint pain had improved enough for him to go back to his regular job.
One of the things I prescribed this patient in particular that day, is a fruit of a plant belonging to the family Solanaceae, known as Gou Qi Zi among Chinese doctors. Also known by several names such as Goji berry or Chinese wolfberry among others,
Gou Qi Zi is one of those super-foods known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The berries have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over two thousand years and although the bioavailability of zeaxanthin in the berry is the only one that has been deeply researched by Lam in 1999, Leung in 2001, and Benzie and Wang in 2006, proving its benefits for ocular disorders such as macular degeneration, there are several other uses claimed by observation throughout the years in China.
Goji berries are known as liver and kidney tonics, and as such lower cholesterol and high blood pressure, aid in the treatment of diabetes and weight loss to name only a few.
They are easy to prepare in teas, juices or tinctures, but they may also be consumed raw or dry as raisins in your cereal. And they are also tasty.
Mark Twain said, “ The only way to keep your health, is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you’d rather not.” For those of us who would much rather have a cup, or two, of Haagen- Dazs Vanilla Ice Cream than a green apple, Gou Qi Zi is an awesome discovery, something that tastes good and it is “good for us.”
So, go ahead and have some berries this morning.
This is just my opinion...
